Voodoo Doughut
They started a kooky empire that changed the landscape of the doughnut industry and became a mockery.
I’ve been wanting to write this story about Voodoo Doughnut for some time. But, either the publications aren’t interested in ME writing a story about doughnuts (which we’ve talked about before), or they just don’t wanna hear about doughnuts anymore. I guess it’s a good thing this newsletter has existed for the last 2 and a half years, because I still have an outlet to write. The writing lands on listening ears. And I still make some compensation for my work. I cannot thank you enough.
Below is only accessible by paid subscribers. Everyone’s support is so appreciated, and I hope you enjoy. But, please consider becoming a paid subscriber to the newsletter.
If you’re a paid subscriber, please leave your Instagram handle in the comments so that I can add you to my “close friends” section of Instagram. I’m taking a break from posting content on my feed, but will post random Shit on my stories and even that I want to be able to control who sees it.
If you can’t swing a paid subscription, no worries! Here are some other ways to show support: Buy Mami a burger, send her a Starbucks gift card (grande hot mocha with whip) or nail polish at the Dollar Tree:

INSTAGRAM REELS AND SUBSCRIBERS
Dude! Thank you SO MUCH to those who have been engaging with my Reels. Thank you to those who have subscribed to my Instagram! Annual subscribers, don’t worry. Although Instagram doesn’t allow us to manually add names to the subscribers list, I added the annual subscribers to the “close friends” list. Anyone who gets that content is already paying in some form. Subscribing to Instagram allows me to show some video (that Substack doesn’t really have the platform for), like behind the scenes footage of Good Morning America, my roadtrips, places where I’m eating and Mami’s shenanigans. Did y’all see me take her to Trader Joe’s last week? What a nightmare. Now I see why some people just used Patreon; it was a built-in multi tiered situation. Instead of me having to balance like 8 different platforms. Haha. Either way, check out my payout for August!
And all because you engaged (which is free) and subscribed (which is like $5 a month?)
