"Karate chop someone in the neck"... I'm howling with laughter. Fisherman's Cove serves good fried food; totally agree. I'm using your gorgeous coastal pic as my phone's background; it's too good not to. Reading about your adventures in CA with Mami, food, driving, the residence, Sacramento haunts, etc. is awesome. I can't speak for everyone here, but just reading your words and reactions to the world keeps me coming back. You're interesting, honest, expressive, and well-researched. I especially love the well researched pieces, but funny and quirky is important too!

When is the book coming out? Work has been crazy so I've been flying under the radar and not paying much attention to life. I want to add your book to my collection because something tells me your food/recipes are going to taste so good when i try them. ✌🏼

Your writing almost makes me wish I lived on the West coast. Almost. It’s gorgeous - but I’ll settle for visiting occasionally. Also seriously appreciate honest recommendations because now I know where to get all the good grub when I do. 🤩

I have the hardest time with The Birds. I guess it's supposed to be scary because you don't know why the birds are going crazy, but everyone getting punked by small birds. Like you're all in the country don't you have a bunch of shotguns?

Bodega Bay is so weird and so wonderful all at the same time ha! I took a Hitchcock class at UCSC and we watched The Birds in class, my first time seeing it, ABSOLUTELY HORRIFYING. I still don't trust birds.

A few years back, my partner and I stayed in Occidental for a few nights and drove out to Bodega Bay for some fried fish goodies. Such a treat.

Bodega Bay, never been & I’m a California viejita! We’ll have to go on this Day Trip to take in some of my faves, fresh ocean air, sunshine, (good for the brain), and a harvest of coastal seafood. @nani1952

Nice! We got lucky and hit Spud Point on the way back to the airport from Sonoma and wasn't much of a line. Good to know about Fisherman's Cove for next time though. We hit Goat Rock Beach, which was a nice quick detour from the highway. Will add Bodega Bay Trailhead to the list though.

To be fair…I have never seen a line like that at Spud Point during the week!!! And we go pretty often.

I love exploring and going on little trips like this! In NY we have a park called the grand canyon of the east and there is a little town at the entrance of the park. I discovered a little restaurant there called Boriken! I rarely see puerto rican spots in NY outside of NYC and I found a little PR in Buffalo, NY. But this was in the most rural part of NY and it is always fun to discover gems! They even had India Company malta, which is something my mom always talked about growing up because her abuelo worked at the factory. Thanks for sharing this.
