I’d offer that maybe there was a piece missing from that advice you got as a 16-year-old. It’s not just copying what you see others do that you want, it’s taking what they do and making it fit you. I see your book as taking what all those other great people you admire do and making it your own. Here’s to starting to enjoy the success you earned!
This hit me so hard. I struggle with some of same dynamics- comparison that leads to self loathing and feeling defeated. I appreciate you sharing openly about this, part of what’s hard is how few people are truly vulnerable about their struggles. It makes it feel like I’m even more of a failure when I start feeling those things. Glad you’re also able to celebrate your victories though, congratulations on the book!!
