In our family, we have the Legend of the Leaning Yule tree. We have always had cats and they have always loved the trees (of course!). All those TikTok videos of trees getting knocked over by cats didn't happen at our house because we chained that baby to a hook on the wall. It always leaned a bit but it stayed upright. Every picture of the kids in front of the tree looks like they are about to be crushed. ~.* Anyone remember the string tinsel they used to sell? Like Pavo with leaves and sticks, we had one cat that loved to eat it so we had to stop using it due to possible gastric distress.

My parents are New Englanders and both grew up with real trees but caved and bought a fake one when we lived in PR. They split while we lived there and I don’t remember having a real tree again after that. I have a flowering quince in my yard where I feed the birds on purpose and the squirrels incidentally and I’ve been thinking of stringing popcorn on it because I have a ton of it, but that’s more “decorating” for the season than the holidays I guess.

My little 3 foot tree goes ON the top of my bookshelf lol. Same reason, pets. I currently have Christmas cards sitting underneath. My porch light went out so my 2nd 3 foot tree is currently the porch light until I decide to fix it. Thanks for all you write!

Adobo Photoshop had me crying I will now call it that forever (I use it every day for work so i will be calling it that A LOT).

We stopped having a big tree some years ago, it got hard for my elderly folks to manage and I always travel from CA to FL to be with them for Christmas and New Year’s. I understand not having one, it also makes us sad for those not with us. So We get a little tiny rosemary tree or something cute from the florist instead for the table, and make Christmas cookies.

I love the shelf! It’s so cozy! the twinkle lights do their magic!

My cat used to eat anything like tinsel or similarly shiny plasticized Mylar stuff (like come off the feather toys) and I’d find it in the litter box a week later. Just went on through!

Sometimes we just hang up our christmas cards in the shape of a tree on the wall. I also do a little christmas themed nook with plush and other little decorations.

We have pets so do the small tabletop tree as well, but it’s still a real one. My husband won’t budge on that! So we put that up in a corner of the living room. This year it didn’t get fully decorated until a couple of nights ago, so we had a bare, kinda raggedy little tree sitting on a table in our living room for a while! It still smelled nice! Thank you again for the recipe booklet!

I haven't seen the boxes with the strings in a long time! They still have the rope tinsel.
